IMPA rewards Students of the Year during IMPA London and Singapore Graduation Ceremonies
The Certified IMPA Buyer Educational Programme opened its doors to junior purchasers from around the world in the autumn of 2017. A year of intense learning, live debates and open discussions on procurement followed on the online teaching portal. With the course having ended not long ago, it seemed fit for graduates to celebrate their success during an official graduation ceremony at one of the two annual IMPA events: London or Singapore.
With a big smile on her face, Susan Koefoed, IMPA CEO, admitted that watching students from all over the world bounce ideas off each other and bring fresh insight to the profession has been inspiring. Within the 2018 cohort, Verity Piggott and Ma. Concepcion C. Catan stood out as the two best students in class. In the words of the teacher, “not only have they constantly sought to improve themselves, but they were also the most prompt in handing in work and always keen to participate in the forum exchange – they really must be the hardest workers in the purchasing field and their work was of a very high level”.
Asked what she thinks about the programme, Verity told IMPA that it was “informative and stimulating”. This is what she had to say: “The online aspect of the course made it accessible and flexible around my day to day work commitments, and I thoroughly enjoyed the continuous interaction with my fellow students, benefitting from their differing opinions and interpretations expressed within the discussion forum. I strongly believe attaining this reputable qualification will greatly assist my career progression, as this course has given me the necessary marine industry knowledge and analytical skills required to thrive in this increasingly competitive and changing industry. I very much look forward to commencing the next level of study in due course.”
IMPA is looking forward to the next course, as well as welcoming Verity once again, although this time it will be on the advanced course.
